5^th Annual

Chalk the Walk

Artist, Art Teachers and Students and Sponsors,

            This year marks the 5th Annual Chalk the Walk charity event sponsored by the Sylvan / Verona Beach Resort Association!

We are looking for artist from 5 to 105 to show their artistic talents at this year’s sidewalk event.

            Chalk the Walk will take place around the town park gazebo in Sylvan Beach from Noon to 4 PM on Saturday July 9th, rain date Sunday July 10^th 2011.

Local Association businesses will be asked to sponsor a “block of the village sidewalk” by contributing monetary donation or gift certificates.

Registered artist will be assigned a block to create and exhibit their work.

Judges will determine the winners who will be announced and given prizes at the end of the event.

Chalk the Walk is the local “version of an Italian Street Painting Festival.”

Artist will be given free reign to create with chalk provided by the association, a creation of their own in full view of the public,

who are cordially invited to watch the work take form.

Artist of all backgrounds are invited to register to participate in this fun event. There are no fees for entering.

Department heads of local school art programs are encouraged to announce and copy this paper to give to their students.

Cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the contest to the first three places. A peoples’ choice award will also be announced.

There are a limited number of sidewalk blocks available so sign up early!
